Marcel Bechger is a HR director at holding company Fluor Corporation responsible for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Thanks to his vast experience in the tech industry, he is very much involved in IT projects. The major challenge he is currently facing involves the development and creation of local talent leadership in these regions as part of the global diversity strategy.

Before joining Fluor in October 2011, Marcel worked for SAP, where he was responsible for delivering HR support to SAP's Global Customer Operations (GCO) in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa as Vice President Human Resources. In this role, Marcel ensured that the business is appropriately staffed in terms of number and quality of employees. In addition, he was interim lead for executive recruitment for the EMEA region. Prior to this, Marcel acted as HR director of SAP Netherlands.

Marcel has over 25 years’ experience in the technology industry, primarily in Human Resources or specialised functions within Human Resources. He worked at Peoplesoft, which is owned by Oracle, and Canon. In both companies he fulfilled international HR leadership duties.

Marcel holds a Bachelor degree in Human Resources and has participated in various leadership and Human Resources related programmes throughout his career.
