Stuart Wells is head of business development at Alliance Manchester Business School. He is an experienced commercial director with a strong interest in promoting collaborative working as a means of achieving sustainable partnerships between universities and organisations.  He has a demonstrable track record of successful income generation, having worked in higher education for 12 years, initially in knowledge transfer and professional development at the University of Glamorgan and then as director of management development programmes at the University of Salford.  He then led the team responsible for setting up Salford Professional Development Limited, which was successfully launched in 2012.

He joined Alliance Manchester Business School (Alliance MBS), University of Manchester in March 2015 as head of business development in executive education. He is responsible for leading a team of client directors and business development managers focused around customised and open programmes, consultancy and sponsorship for executive education. He was a key part of the team that developed the Strategic Talent Partnership framework.
