As Professor of Innovation, Corporate Strategy, and Information Systems at IE Business School, Ricardo Perez has combined an extensive professional career with one of in-depth research in the field of innovation and technology. Ricardo’s research is related to how digital technologies currently impact the media–telecom, banking, and retail industries, and how organisations can create organisational mechanisms and develop innovation capabilities to face change. He works with multinational corporations on four continents to apply and test these ideas.
In addition, Ricardo is Academic Director of the Master in Digital Business at IE and has participated and managed several research projects, with total funding of more than EUR 1 million, in areas such as the media industry, banking, telecoms, and the sharing economy.
During the last 20 years Ricardo has collaborated in education and consulting projects with companies such as Telefonica, Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, EA Games, BBVA, Banco Santander, BT, Vodafone, Alcatel-Lucent, Antena3, and Telecinco, as well as with universities such as Stanford, MIT, and Berkeley in the US; Egade in Mexico; Insper in Brazil; CKGSB and Shanghai University in China; and the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
