[Keynote speech]
AUTHENTIC LEADERSHIP FOR INNOVATION
One of the reasons companies fail to innovate is that innovation requires trust, and many people have lost faith in leaders. Since the financial crash of 2008, distrust in leaders has dramatically increased, to the point where only a third of people trust leaders. How can leaders rebuild trust to foster innovation in the workplace?
Innovation requires authentic leaders. Authenticity is the antidote to this crisis of confidence in leadership. From her two decades of research, Dr Margarita Mayo will share scientific evidence which demonstrates the power of authenticity to drive innovation for growth and sustainability.
To become an authentic leader, you need the three H’s of authentic leadership: heart, habits, and harmony. The best leaders feel passionate about their ideas, push their limits, and serve the needs of multiple stakeholders. Margarita will explain how you can teach your mind to think differently, and how you can practise the nine skills that every truly innovative leader needs to develop.
